Samsung's 200-megapixel camera sensor has been spotted in the wild March 31, 2022by Martin 6 In September 2021, Samsung announced the 200-megapixel camera sensor Isocell HP1 . While the announcement may have excited the industry, we have yet to see the sensor appear on the phone. That changes today with the real leaked image of the Motorola smartphone equipped with a 200MP HP1 sensor. SamMobile reports that the image was shared via Chinese social media website Weibo before later appearing on Twitter. The pictured phone is said to be the Motorola Frontier , which is said to be the brand's upcoming flagship-level device. Many expected Xiaomi to be the first company to have Samsung's latest and greatest sensor, but it looks like Ice Universe got it right once again by claiming that Moto will be first out of the gate.
There's no official word on when the Motorola Frontier will be C Level Executive List released, but for now our best guess is July of this year. As for when we will see the HP1 sensor in one of Samsung's own devices , it is even more difficult to say. Samsung doesn't seem particularly interested in the pixel count race, with only the Galaxy A73 currently going over 100-megapixels. With most Samsung 2022 flagships already on the market, that leaves the Z-series foldable phones as potential candidates. Given the Z Fold 3's 12MP camera array, the jump to 200MP is highly unlikely.
