Broke! Grow a garden this year. « Result #2 on Mar 1, 2009, 4:03pm »
Take the time to grow some veggies! Its fun, relaxing, a great way to spend time away from TV and computers. It helps you and others around you save money. The food benifits alone are great too. So what are you waiting for, its time to plan that garden.
NEW WEB DESIGN FORUM LAYOUTS « Result #3 on Jun 30, 2007, 11:18am »
I am reorganizing the boards for Web Design. The posting guidelines should be self-explanatory. If you don't know where to post, post here and I'll put it in the appropriate place.
Try to keep your posts within the appropriate topic areas.
If you have an idea for a new board, let me know and I'll accomodate your request.
As we grow, I'll add more topics, but this is a good start for now.
Terms of Service for this Board « Result #4 on Apr 27, 2007, 8:47pm »
Hear about some ridiculous law, abuse of power or your rights lately? Something got your goat that makes you want to scream from the highest mountaintop that it's wrong, Wrong, WRONG!?! Think you can make a difference if you educate a few people? Here's your place to tell your story and let it all hang out!
The terms of service (T.O.S.) for this board are generally the same, however, the standards are a little more relaxed. I am passionate about politics, as most humans are, so even I might get fired up once in a while. Empowermom realizes that people get heated and downright passionate when they have a cause they believe in. You are allowed to express your opinions freely here, as long as you are not offensive, rude or downright obnoxious.
FLAMING will NOT be tolerated and posts that are not on topic and/or are generally offensive to the "common man" (or woman) will be deleted. In other words, "presentation" of differing opinions is permitted, downright insulting language or name calling is NOT.
Think carefully when you post here. It's a forum for debate and discussion, not grandstanding or bashing. Your cooperation will aid everyone involved in coming together on views/issues which are important to all of us, regardless of whether we agree or not.
Thanks! Carol

Meet Empowermom « Result #5 on Oct 1, 2006, 9:25am »
Hi! My name is Carol, I'm 53 and my passion is people! I've been on the Internet since it began and I've met a kit and kaboodle of interesting people along the way. You never have too many friends and I believe interesting people keep you young, grounded and entertained!
Variety is the spice of life and people keep you whole. They teach you, mold you, center you and complete you when you can't see the forest for the trees. Even the youngest have insights on the simplest things in life that we have forgetten are there!
I enjoy the good fortune and blessing of having a wonderful, sensitive, compassionate husband. We've been married for (almost) 25 years and share a fiesty, intelligent, well-rounded (if not challenging) 18 yr. old daughter (who thinks she's 32!).
My Mom (who happens to be my best friend) lives next door to us and we share a large country farm, which is something both wonderful and challenging. Mom never misses a trick to keep me centered and ever mindful of how important family is. She's one of the smartest cookies on the block and I never cease to wonder at her fortitude and fascination of life.
My brother, his wife and 3 children live on the opposite side of her! There are those who would normally cringe at that thought, being so close to so much FAMILY and all, but we've all found a wonderful balance of "old world family values" and "new world" adventures many will never have the benefit to experience. I wouldn't trade my life for a gazillion dollars and I live each day to the fullest. It can get a little crazy at times, but life is NEVER boring!
The biggest blessing in my life is that we don't lack for the company of children on any given day. Life is SWEET with the laughter of children and is never dull, with or without them!
My father lives in another state but we still share a rich life together. He's a great source of inspiration to me when it comes to enjoying life's adventures. Dad's a "young" seventy-something, he still has a mind like a sponge and a quest for knowledge that is second to none. He's never lacking when I need a "Devil's Advocate" to help me solve a problem.
I love learning and enjoy all life has to offer. My motto is "learn at LEAST one thing new every day."
I like sharing, caring and nurturing my family and friends and I sure don't mind "speaking my piece" and "telling it like it is"!
You'll find me all over the place at Empowermom and I welcome you to join our community. I hope you'll become a part of something which is special to me and I hope it becomes special to you as well.
So go ahead and post your thoughts, share advice, ask for advice, share your knowledge, help others and pursue your passions! What have you got to lose?
